Remembering Annie Tidwell

Annie Noyes Tidwell passed away on August 23, 2026. She was born and raised right here in Phoenix, Arizona, and spent her life surrounded by family, faith, and so many people who loved her.

If you knew Annie, you knew how important her faith was to her. It was always number one in her life. She spent many years working in manufacturing and was incredibly proud of being one of the first female welders here in Arizona. She was also a secretary for her church, which was another part of her life that meant so much to her.

Annie was a family person through and through. She was preceded in death by her mom, dad, three brothers, and son. She leaves behind her older brother and her four granddaughters. One of her granddaughters was especially close to her and became her caregiver, giving her so much love making sure she had the best care and was comfortable to the very end.

But Annie’s family was never just the people she was related to. She loved her nieces, nephews, cousins, and so many others she helped raise along the way. She had a way of taking people in and making them part of her life. There are so many people who can say Annie helped raise them, loved them, or was there for them when they needed her.

And then there was Annie’s personality.

If it glittered or sparkled, she probably wanted it. She loved crafts and was always making something, finding something, or giving something away. Most of us probably have a little treasure somewhere that Annie made for us or gave to us, and those things will mean even more now.

She loved to have fun, too. Give her Pac-Man, pinball, a claw machine, or Zelda and she was happy. She loved telling stories about her life, and if you knew her for any amount of time, chances are you heard some of them more than once. That's just part of what made Annie, Annie.

She also had a habit of making sure everyone knew about her favorite movies. If you knew Annie, you probably got introduced to The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, or Darby O'Gill and the Little Peopleat some point.

There are going to be so many little things that remind us of her. A story she used to tell. Something sparkly she gave us. A craft she made. A favorite movie. A game. A saying. And all those little things are going to become some of our favorite memories of her and of course her love for snacks! She had the biggest sweet tooth.

Annie loved hard, lived her faith, took care of her family, and left pieces of herself with so many people.

She will be missed more than words can say, but she will also be talked about, laughed about, remembered, and loved for a very long time.
